On 20-22 April 2018 H2R community leaders from Whanganui, Gisborne, Palmerston North, Masterton and Wellington came together at Wainuiomata marae to build their skills in health and wellbeing and plan for the next stage of action within their communities.
At the hui H2R community leaders learnt about child health and development, public health, mental health, suicide prevention, how to administer CPR, the NZ Maori Council’s Treaty of Waitangi claim on Maori health services and outcomes, and the option to enrol on the Maori electorate roll H2R leaders. Many thanks to HPA and all the guest speakers who supported the hui. H2R leaders are now working with their communities to share their new skills and put their plans into action.
